Roger Alton lands another sports columnist job

By Patrick

Former Observer editor Roger Alton is the new star sposrts columnist of monthly men’s magazine GQ.

He appears in  March’s issue, out today – his second role since leaving The Observer in January, after being signed up as a sports columnist for The Spectator.

The column is not online, so you will have to spend £3.80 to have a read. Briefly though, Alton mentions Jeff Miller from Chicago who picked up a Coach Potato of the Year awards for watching 40.5 hours of TV a week.

“I don’t want to pour rain on Jeff’s parade,” he writes, “but isn’t 40-odd hours, well, just a bit lightweight?”
