Human remains believed to be of US photojournalist Sean Flynn may have been found in Cambodia, forty years after he went missing – The Independent reports.
Flynn, son of Hollywood actor Errol Flynn, was reporting for Time Magazine in Cambodia and disappeared after attempting to cross a hostile checkpoint on 6 April, 1970.
Some 36 journalists died between 1970 -1975 during the Cambodian conflict.
British journalist Keith Rotheram and Scottish-born Australian David MacMillan are reported to have led the excavation of graves in a small village in the Kampong Cham province, Eastern Cambodia.
Rotheram told The Independent that the full story would “be for the highest bidder”.
The Independent reports that British photographer Tim Page directed an excavation of the same site last year and found glass vials, bone fragments and teeth. He believes that the site could hold more than just Flynn’s remains and could be a mass burial ground used but the Khmer Rouge.
