Wallpaper, the design and lifestyle magazine, is inviting its readers to customise their own covers of an upcoming issue.
The magazine’s August ‘Handmade’issue – to be sold from the beginning of July – will use a novel online approach allowing readers to register with its ‘cover application’and select and manipulate a wide selection of images, graphics and patterns for their cover.
Media partner Rolex is also allowing readers to customise its back page ad.
The Wallpaper readers cover announcement follows Stevie Spring, head of Future, telling the PPA conference last week that magazines would have to become ‘collectable, keepable artefacts’ to survive in a future world dominated by digital publishing.
