News of Informa’s merger talks with United Business Media could bring a number of third party rival private equity bidders for Informa out of the woodwork, the Financial Times has predicted.
Among the groups tipped to be considering a bid for the Lloyd’s List publisher are Providence Equity Partners, an unsuccessful bidder for Emap’s B2B division.
Apax, which won Emap last year in a joint venture with the Guardian Media Group, is also rumoured to be eyeing Informa.
