By Rachael

Polish president Lech Kaczynski is alleged to have threatened to ‘destroy’a television reporter following a heated television interview, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Journalist Monika Olejnik interviewed Kaczynski during last week’s European Union summit in Brussels, and following the interview he is reported as saying ‘You’re on my blacklist, and you’ll regret it. I’ll destroy you.”

Olejnik’s employers, independent television station TNV, have written to Poland’s broadcasting authorities defending the journalist and raising concerns’ over free speech.

Olenjik has said that the president later telephoned to apologise for the outburst.
