The chief constable of Cambridgeshire Constabulary, Julie Spence, has become the first senior police officer to be appointed to the board of the Press Complaints Commission.
Spence, who is also president of the British Association for Women in Policing, replaces Vivien Hepworth, who stepped down as a public member of the PCC to lead the independent review into the PCC’s governance last year.
