The Press Association has used the Freedom of Information Act to access a list detailing the maximum amount that MPs are able to claim on expenses for household items for their second home.
Parliamentary officials had previously declined to release the list, which reveals that MPs can spend up to £10,000 on a kitchen and £100 on a coffee machine. The document also says that department store John Lewis is used as a guide for pricing after it topped a Which? Survey last year.
