Oh come all ye journos – to St Bride’s on Fleet Street for Christmas carols

By Jack Fenwick

This year’s Christmas carol concert organised by the Journalists’ Charity will take place at St Bride’s Church, Fleet Street, on 21 December.

Doors will open at 6pm and anyone is welcome to attend.

Entrance is free but it is asked that you make a donation to the charity.

Journalists making readings throughout the concert include Katherine Viner, editor-in-chief of the Guardian; Tony Gallagher, editor-in-chief of The Sun; Mishal Hussain of BBC News and the Today Programme; Bryony Gordon, columnist at the Telegraph and Alex Brumner, City editor at the Daily Mail.

The Journalists’ Charity, which last year celebrated 150 years of helping people in the industry, stages several fund-raising events throughout the year.

Previously called the Newspaper Press Fund, it runs several care homes and sheltered housing for retired journalists, and provides emergency grants to those that work or have worked in journalism.
