The National Union of Journalists has organised a timely conference next week about how journalists can protect themselves in “the age of surveillance”.
In the wake of the revelation that police forces are monitoring our phone records, we are all going to need to be a lot more careful if we are to keep our sources safe.
Organised with The Guardian and the International Federation of Journalists the conference is being held at Kings Place, in London, from 9am on 16 October.
Speakers include Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger, Gavin Miller QC and comedian Mark Thomas.
There will also be a video message from Edward Snowden (pictured above).
