BBC business editor and man of the moment Robert Peston need not worry about the economic downturn affecting his mortgage rates, as The Daily Mirror reports that he has already paid it off.
Peston, 48, has lived in his £1 million house in North London with his wife and son since 1996. According to the Mirror he paid off his mortgage in 2003.
A BBC source told the paper: ‘Robert is forever telling people how the economic downturn could affect their mortgages so they would be interested to hear he has none himself. He works incredibly hard so nobody could begrudge him financial security.”
