Flat Earth News author Nick Davies has responded to journalists who have criticised his book in the national press.
Writing in the online magazine The First Post, Davies hit back at critics including Magnus Linklater, Simon Jenkins and Peter Preston, who have all penned negative reviews of the book.
Davies insists that he had stressed that there is no previous “golden age” of journalism, a common complaint of his critics.
Davies writes: “But still the question remains: why should an industry whose primary object is to tell the truth be so nervous about having the truth told about itself?”
