Scottish press agency Newsflash has closed down with the loss of five jobs. The agency was owned by former Sun and Mirror journalistFrank Gilbride, who blamed market conditions such as increased competition for the closure, according to AllmediaScotland.com.
He said: “This is due to market conditions over the last couple of years, with little prospect of matters improving sufficiently to make the company a viable proposition on an on-going basis.”
Gilbride assured all staff will be paid what is due.
