News of the World could face action after printing Kate McCann diary

By Rachael

The News of the World could be trouble after publishing the diary of Kate McCann last Sunday.

Roy Greenslade has observed that the diaries, which the NoW reported were passed to the paper by a reporter in Portugal, have been removed from the paper’s website and claims a source told him that lawyers were now “heavily involved”.

In March this year Express Newspapers agreed to pay a “very substantial sum”, thought to be near £550,000, after the papers in the group repeatedly alleged they were involved in their daughter Madeline’s disappearance.
