Here’s the latest news on the growing News of the World advertising boycott.
The following brands or organisations have suspended advertising with the paper in the wake of Monday night’s revelations over the alleged hacking of the mobile phone of murdered schoolgirl Milly Dowler:
- Npower
- Ford
- Halifax bank
- Virgin Holidays
- The Co-operative Group
- Vauxhall
- Mitsubishi
- Butlins
- O2
- Boots
- Asda
- The charity Beatbullying
- The Royal British Legion
- Sainsburys
- Coca Cola
A number of other companies have said they are reviewing their positions.
Meanwhile, Commons leader Sir George Young told MPs that the Government was set to urgently review its advertising contracts with the News of the World.
