Roger Hawes has been appointed the news editor of the Bucks Herald, Bucks Advertiser and Thame Gazette newspapers.
Hawes joins the Johnston Press titles from independent newspaper publisher the Berkshire Media Group where he held several senior editorial posts.
In an article on thametoday.co.uk he said:
I have been a weekly newspaper editor for 20 years and to join my local paper, The Bucks Herald, is a privilege.
I am hugely excited about my appointment as it now means I live, work and play locally.
Papers like The Bucks Herald are really important for communities like ours so I will continue to build on its excellent reputation for local news coverage.
There is great team of reporters here bringing you the latest news both in print and online.
With some exciting plans in the pipeline I will be out in the community as much as possible and welcome your views on how you feel The Bucks Herald is serving your community.
