The Los Angeles Times has announced it is looking to cut 150 newsroom jobs – and reduce the number of news pages it produces each day – in a bid to save cash.
According to the International Herald Tribune, ad revenue at the paper was down 15 per cent in the first quarter of 2008. The cuts amount to a sixth of the LA Times’s reporting staff, and are part of wider cuts announced last month by parent company Tribune.
