Journalists at France’s biggest selling national paper, Le Monde, have pledged to fight an attempt by minority shareholders to prise control of the paper from them.
The Financial Times says publishers Lagardere and Prisa have proposed a refinancing plan for the loss-making paper, which could see the staff’s 60 per cent controlling stake in the company diluted.
