Katie Derham leaves ITN for non-news BBC role

ITV has confirmed that ITN lunchtime newsreader Katie Derham is leaving to join the BBC.

The Daily Mail reports that she will have been given an increase on her rumoured £200,000 a year salary to host a variety of programmes including coverage of the Proms.
