Kampfner’s New Statesman management buy-out bid?

John Kampfner, the New Statesman editor who left the title abruptly this week, had considered a management buy-out of the title, according to the Independent on Sunday.

The paper claims Kampfner looked into an MBO last summer “when it became clear that [Geoffrey] Robinson was curtailing spending on the magazine”.
