The judge in the trial of a man accused of murdering five prostitutes in Ipswich has told the jury to ignore media reports of the case.
According to the Times Mr Justice Gross said jurors should not read about proceedings on the internet or anywhere else while the trial is in progress. Steve Wright, 49, stands accused of the murders that took place between 29 October and 13 December 2006.
At the time of the murders, Suffolk Police issued a series of warnings to the media not to prejudice any future trial by going beyond the boundaries of the Contempt of Court Act 1981.
