By owenamos

Jessica Geen has been appointed new editor of gay news website pinknews.co.uk.

Geen, who joins from online news agency Adfero, replaces Tony Grew, who is joining a new parliament-reporting website, ispystrangers.org.

Geen said: “I’m really pleased to be starting at pinknews.co.uk and am looking forward to expanding and developing the site.

‘We’re currently the biggest gay news provider in Europe and I hope to keep up the tradition of respected and widely-read journalism established by Tony. I wish him all the best with his new website.”

Grew said: ‘It has been a great honour to edit pinknews.co.uk. The site has increased its readership and its reputation in the past two years, something I am very proud of.

‘I would like to thank publisher Ben Cohen for the opportunity and all those who worked with me to make pinknews.co.uk the success it is today.

“Parliament has always been my first love, and I feel it is under-reported. Ispystrangers is a collective of journalists committed to ensuring comprehensive and accurate online reporting of what our MPs and peers get up to every day. The site will go live next month.”
