Jeremy Clarkson on the BBC’s Gaelic TV channel

By paulmcnally

The BBC’s forthcoming launch of a Gaelic-language digital TV service – which was rubber-stamped by the BBC Trust this week – has incurred the wrath of Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson.

In his Sun column, Clarkson says: “The BBC has announced … a new television channel for the 60,000 people in remote Scottish islands who still speak Gaelic.

“On that basis, the 60,000 people who live in the Cotswolds can have their own television channel as well.”
