The veteran ITN foreign reporter, Michael Nicholson, adopted an eight-year-old girl from a Brazilian slum in 1996 and brought her back to the UK, the Mail on Sunday has revealed.
“We looked after her for 10 years,” Nicholson tells the paper. “I paid for her operations and schooling and I don’t think we could have done more for her.”
