A black and white picture taken at night of refugees passing a baby under a razorwire fence on the Serbia/Hungary border has been named World Press Photo of the Year.
Freelance Australian journalist Warren Richardson is the winner of the annual prize for his image taken in Roszke, Hungary, on 28 August 2015 on a Canon EOS 5D Mark II.
On his website Richardson details how he spent five days on the Serbia/Hungary border witnessing some 20,000 people from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa, Bangladesh, Iran and Nepal going across.
Richardson was himself beaten by police while covering a stand-off between refugees and the Hungarian authorities. All the World Press Photo winners can be seen here.
