Horrocks criticises ‘psychotic’ BBC bashing in papers

The head of BBC newsroom, Peter Horrocks, has bemoaned the “obsessive” coverage of anti-Beeb stories in papers such as the Daily Mail.

In an interview with the Observer ahead of a major BBC News rebranding this week, Horrocks says: “The level of attention about how high up a headline is, or how low-cut a blouse might be, is psychotic, and the pressure that puts journalists under is intense.”
