The Halifax Courier returned to newsstands today after heavy snowfall in the area surrounding its Dinsdale print works prevented yesterday’s distribution.
The Courier told its readers today that yesterday was first time in living memory the paper had missed a day’s publication.
To compensate for the missing day, The Courier told readers it would offer yesterday’s paper free today at newsagents with Thursday’s edition.
Tim Robinson, Courier editor, said: “This was an exceptional event and we are grateful for our readers and advertisers for their patience and loyalty to the paper during this incredibly frustrating time.
“We have done everything possible to ensure the Courier is back as normal today, bringing up-to-date local news and information about the big chill and its effects on the region.”
