Guardian’s veteran golf writer Dai Davies dies aged 69

Dai Davies, The Guardian’s golf correspondent from 1982-2004 died yesterday, aged 69.

In an obituary in the paper’s sport section today, Lawrence Douglas pays tribute to Davies, who began his career on the Birmingham Post in 1965 and continued to file stories for magazines and newspapers after his “retirement” four years ago.
