The Guardian’s Facebook app, launched on 23 September, was number one on a list of emerging Facebook apps listed by the Inside Facebook website.
They estimate the app attracted 516,000 users last week.
The app is a landing-page to read Guardian content within Facebook and includes functionality which allows readers to see which Guardian stories are most popular on Facebook and which ones have been read by ‘friends’.
The app was built by Techlightenment in conjunction with The Guardian development team. The Independent also launched a Facebook app on 23 September.
