Future Publishing’s online advertising revenues were up 50 per cent in 2007 to £6.9 million and now represent 12 per cent of group ad revenues, according to the company’s annual report, which is out today.
The proportion of online revenue is signicantly larger in the games sector, where online accounts for 28 per cent of the company’s ad revenue. That sector includes Future’s games site GamesRadar.com.
The report says the company invested £11.5 million online, including the acquisitions of Bikely.com and Cyclingnews.com, which led to the launch of BikeRadar. That site generated 5 million ad impressions during last summer’s Tour de France, the company said.
Future also said it will invest a further £5 million online in 2008.
