FT expands with launch of China newsletter

By Dominic wireposts

The FT today launched a new premium online newsletter called China Confidential employing two journalists.
It is edited by former FT China bureau chief James Kynge and also employs senior correspondent Julia Grindell.

China Confidential is published fortnightly, with the first issue available from 5 March. It will, says the FT, “provide in-depth analysis, aggregated research and insight into macro, political and sectorial issues directly relating to China”.

Kynge says in the press release: “The Chinese economy continues to boom and FT is dedicated to providing the most in-depth news and analysis for readers on political and economic developments. This independent publication will give readers premium insight and predictive data analysis, making it one of the most comprehensive publications dedicated to keeping readers informed on the Chinese economy. With a dedicated subscriber-only model we will look to expand our offering in the future, especially on the website.”
The FT isn’t revealing what the subscription rates are – other than to say they will vary and cost substantially more than an FT.com subscription.
