F1 chief Max Mosley sues News of the World over privacy

By paulmcnally

Max Mosley, the president of Formula One governing body FIA, has begun legal action against the News of the World over last week’s “sick Nazi orgy” splash.

According to the Guardian, Mosley’s lawyers have issued proceedings against the paper for breach of privacy. It comes after pressure intensifies on the motor racing boss, who has been banned by the Bahrain’s crown prince from this weekend’s Grand Prix and faced calls from manufacturers BMW and Mercedes-Benz to resign.

The News of the World, meanwhile, has published a second splash this week – also running across two spreads inside the paper – including an interview from one of the five prostitutes and what it claims is a transcript of “secret tapes” from the session.
