Gordon Brown has refused to detail his meetings with Rupert Murdoch under the Freedom of Information, according to Monday’s Independent.
Downing Street responded to an Indy FOI request asking for “details of any meetings” between Murdoch and Brown claiming that “we do not hold any minutes of any meetings or other interactions”. But the paper says at least one such meeting, at Chequers, is known to have taken place.
A similar request about Tony Blair’s meetings with Murdoch, was finally disclosed to Liberal Democrat peer Lord Avebury last summer after a long appeals process.
