TV journalist Donal MacIntyre told a court yesterday that he was set upon in a bar in an alleged revenge attack over his exposing of a gang of football hooligans.
The investigative journalist told Guilford Crown Court that he was attacked by drinkers last June over a programme he filmed ten years ago about the violent Chelsea Headhunters gang.
The BBC MacIntyre Undercover documentary programme saw him infiltrate the ¬hooligan gang and led to the jailing of a man, the Express reported.
MacIntyre was confronted at the Cloud 9 bar in Hampton Court, south-west London, where he claims to have been attacked, the report stated.
