DMGT gloom: Ad revenues down, more cuts planned

By paulmcnally

The Daily Mail and General Trust is looking at further cost-cutting measures at its papers and has acknowledged that its online operations are “proving less profitable than expected”.

According to the Times, DMGT has given a “gloomy” prognosis to analysts after posting a six per cent fall in May ad revenues. Shares in the company fell 23p to 381.5p as a result.

The bad news had a knock-on effect on Johnston Press as well, which was down 3.75p to 68.5p.
