The Sun’s fall below the 3 million circulation mark – and the Mirror’s slump below 1.5 million – could prompt one of the red-tops to consider going free, an analyst has told the Financial Times.
Douglas McCabe from Enders Analysis speculated that the latest ABCs will “accelerate the arrival of the day when one of these two papers – probably the Sun – will decide to go free”.
The Sun already sells at the reduced price of 20p in London and Scotland.
