The Department of Culture, Media and Sport today announced the appointment of Ed Vaizey as the minister responsible for media.
Vaizey, Conservative MP for Wantage and Didcot, will be directly responsible for seven areas, including media, the arts, museums and the creative industries.
Vaizey will join the department led by Jeremy Hunt, who was appointed Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport last week.
The two previously worked together when Vaizey took the role of Shadow Culture and Creative Industries Minister from 2006-2010.
They will be joined in the DCMS by John Penrose (Minister for Tourism) and Hugh Robertson (Minister for Sport and the Olympics).
