Daily Mirror picture editor beaten in Britain’s Got Talent comedy showdown

By Patrick

It’s not often that newspaper production staff get much time in the limelight, so it’s refreshing to see the Daily Mirror’s picture editor Greg Bennett get his face – and some jokes of varying quality – across two pages in today’s Mirror.

Bennett went toe-to-toe in a comedy duel with 13-year-old aspiring comic Charlie Wernham, who starred in TV’s Britain’s Got Talent last Saturday. A video of the occasion is on the Mirror website.

Bennett – the paper’s “in-house joker” – more than held his own against the pint-sized funnyman but the Mirror declared the youngster the winner.

When he’s not dealing with pictures Bennett pens the Mirror’s Greg’s Giggle joke column.
