Culture secretary hits out at Tory broadcasting plans

The new culture secretary, Andy Burnham, is “staggered” by Conservative proposals to relax impartiality rules for broadcasters.

In an interview with the Independent, Burnham says: “It is very bad step whichever way you look at it. It is not as if we are lacking opinions in this country. We’ve got too many, arguably.”
