CondéNet announces senior appointments

By Martin Stabe wirepost

CondéNet International, the division responsible for magazine publisher Condé Nast’s digital operations outside the United States, has announced several senior appointments.

Emanuela Pignataro is the new UK country manager. She joined the company in January 2007 as international strategy director after several years at Microsoft’ EMEA MarComm director.

According to the company, one of Pignataro tasks will be to appoint “the most talented senior editorial player in the market” to serve as executive producer in charge of editorial strategy across the CondéNet UK sites.

Like each of the other eight country managers, Pignataro will report directly to the CondéNet International president Stefano Maruzzi.

Maruzzi spent more than seven years at Microsoft as an executive in the online division.

In July, they will be joined by another former Microsoft employee when Torstein Harildstad will take on the newly-created role of director of international operations.

Harildstad, who has worked in online media since 1995 and has been an executive at Microsoft Norway for the past eight years, will lead technological developments and innovation across CondéNet’s network.

This week, CondéNet announced the relaunch of Vogue.com and revealed plans for a relaunch of Glamour magazine’s website.
