Global Voices’ Ethan Zuckerman outlines a new project set up in Kenya following concerns that the number of people being killed in the aftermath of the disputed elections is being under-reported by the media.
Ushahidi was set up after Kenyan Pundit blogger Ory Okollah wrote about the need for an online project documenting the violence, Zuckerman writes.
The site he says is the work of Kenyan developer David Kobia working with a number of bloggers and activists in the country.
Zuckerman also links to the Voices of Africa site which promotes reporting from Africa using 3G mobile phones.
