The Christian Choice party has begun legal action against the BBC, accusing it of censoring its party political broadcast for the London mayoral elections.
According to the Times, the party’s candidate, Alan Craig, has claimed he was forced to change the wording of his speech, which touched on the plans to build Europe’s biggest mosque next to the site of the London 2012 Olympic games.
He claims the BBC asked him to use the word “controversial” instead of “separatist” and barred the use of the term “moderate Muslims”. ITV is also named in the court action.
