BBC slashes party budget after FoI request

The BBC is cutting back on this year’s Christmas party and has banned spending on Champagne after a series of Freedom of Information requests.

According to the Independent, the BBC sent about £250,000 on parties last year and £60,000 on bubbly. A memo to staff has informed them that the party budget will be slashed by 50 per cent this year.
