BBC iPlayer serves 41 million programmes in December

The BBC iPlayer recorded its best viewing figures last month since it launched in December 2007.

BBC Vision confirmed today that it received 41 million requests to view programmes on the online catch-up service last month – up from 35 million in November.

The total number of requests over the past 12 months – from Christmas Day 2007 to Christmas Day 2008 – was 271 million, the corporation said.
