Assange attacks ‘backstabbing’ British journalists as Wikileaks puts Baghdad Jews in danger

By Dominic wireposts

Wikileaks founder Julian Assange describes British journalism as a “credit-stealing, credit-whoring, backstabbing industry” in a documentary broadast on More4 tomorrow. And that’s just The Guardian, presumably, who he has had most dealings with. The documentary tells Assange’s side of US embassy cables – the leak of which he co-ordinated with The Guardian, New York Times and De Spiegel. And about the how his relationships with those titles went sour.
One major issue was Wikileaks’ decision to release unredacted Afghanistan cables which left US military informers vulnerable to reprisals – the Independent reports.
Meanwhile, Wikileaks is today facing further criticism over the publication of a leaked embassy cable which has allegedly identified Baghdad’s last seven remaining jews.
The Times reports that (£) the Anglican vicar of Baghdad Andrew White is trying to protect the seven who were apparently identified in a US embassy cable which has been leaked.
White told The Times: “We have been trying to support them but the Wikileaks publication is very, very dangerous.”
