Gordon Ramsay tempted by Dempster haunt

By Axegrinder axeblog

Axegrinder never personally met the legendary Daily Mail gossip columnist Nigel Dempster, however, there will doubtless be tales and tales about him and his tactics for years to come.

What I do know is that one of his favourite Chelsea restaurants was Foxtrot Oscar, run by Michael Proudlock. In fact, Dempster and Proudlock were so close that Nigel appointed Michael as one of the executors of his estate.

The restaurant was also a favourite of former Spectator editor Frank Johnson, who lived nearby and who sadly died last December after a courageous battle with cancer.

However, now I hear the haunt has been sold and is closed for renovation. The new owner?

You guessed it – Gordon Ramsay, but I gather that Proudlock will still be around to regale the customers with tales about his favourite hacks.
