Former England football manager Sven Goran Ericsson must have thought he had died and gone to hell when he popped in for a spot of dinner at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester.
Around 100 journalists were in the bar next door maxing out their expense accounts on the first night of the Society of Editors conference. Fortunately for him this lot were rather more self-effacing than the sort of press pack Sven faced when he was in the England job.
Only one brave soul ventured across to offer Sven the olive branch – CN Group‘s web supremo Nick Turner, who congratulated him on his sterling work thus far at Man City.
