Serra’s move was right on the money

By Axegrinder axeblog

It may not be Britain’s most watched news network, but the Arab-owned Al Jazeera TV station sounds like a pretty lucrative place to work.

“I’m aiming for at least £100,000 by the end of this year,” boasts Al Jazeera’s Barbara Serra who, used to present the news on Channel Five for rather less.

Still, there is a crumb of comfort for Serra’s envious rivals ‒ not all her cash comes from her deep-pocketed bosses.

“I also do some film work and media training in Italy,” she tells the Sunday Times Money section.

That’s all right then.
