Former Daily Telegraph New York correspondent Harry Mount ‒ who was let go by Con Coughlin when he was in the foreign editor’s chair ‒ is enjoying life and success as an author.

No sooner has he sold his book about Latin, Amo, Amas, Amat and All That, to a major American publishing house for $250,000 (£123,000), then he’s got another writing deal under his belt.

Young Mount ‒ a distant cousin of Tory leader David Cameron ‒ has signed a six-figure deal to write an anecdotal history of British architecture with publisher Little, Brown. The book will come out next year.
