Drinkers will be disappointed to learn that an article in Marie Claire about the health-giving properties of tequila may have been wide of the mark.
According to the latest bulletin from the PCC, the magazine carried a report "containing inaccurate assertions about the properties of tequila" – that it was both "slimming" and "hangover free".
Now, Axegrinder wouldn’t have to go too far to find a few gnarled night editors who might disagree with the second of these claims. A complaint to the PCC was duly lodged prompting Marie Claire to remove the article from its website.
It has also “revised its internal procedures to prevent similar errors arising in future”.
Axegrinder can only speculate whether those errors arose after one too many slammers the night before.
