Construction News staff have been busy pulling their socks up over falling standards of dress.
Deputy editor Nina Lovelace, in an email note to staff, sternly suggests the new dress code isn’t “sinking in†at the B2B magazine. Lovelace demands “smart casual†of everyone, but withholds her most patronising tone for the female members of staff.
“Girls ‒ use your noggin. But basically no T-shirts, no blue jeans, no trainers, no sweatshirts, no hoodies, smart shoes or boots. If in doubt, ask me as I know it’s sometimes a bit less clear.â€
Axegrinder is a little unclear on the last point. What do they wear on their feet if “smart shoes, boots and trainers†are out of the question?
Not that it will be asking Lovelace to clarify, for fear it gets a good telling off like this: “I don’t want to have to start asking people to go home and change as you are grown ups with brains.â€
